Virgin Voyages Cruise Review: How To Enjoy A Superyacht-Inspired Cruise For Adults Only

We had an opportunity to board this beautiful ship in October of 2022 and want to share with you our Virgin Voyages Cruise experience from Miami to the Caribbean. We will show you what’s included in your cruise fare, what’s unique about the ship, and what’s fun to do on board and ashore. We will also give you some tips and tricks to make the most of your voyage.
Virgin Voyages is not your typical cruise line. It’s designed for adults only, with a superyacht-inspired atmosphere, upscale dining outlets, free Wi-Fi access, design-forward staterooms, and wellness activities. Virgin Voyages promises that unlike other cruise lines, much of what you need onboard is included with your cruise fare.
All cruise fares will include basic beverages like soda, bottled water, coffee, and tea. Cruise fares will also include Wi-Fi and all gratuities, even on services such as spa treatments. Your cruise fare on Virgin Voyages covers the cost of your stateroom for the duration of the trip. These cabins are designed to optimize space and ocean views. On Scarlet Lady, 93% of cabins feature an ocean view and 86% feature a balcony. Many of these rooms also offer a Seabed.
One of the most distinctive features of Virgin Voyages is its dining options. There are more than 20 signature restaurants on board Scarlet Lady, and all of them are complimentary. You don’t have to worry about hidden fees, crowded buffets, or designated dining times.
You can enjoy everything from comfort food to experimental cuisine, elaborate brunches to Korean BBQ. Some of the highlights include Razzle Dazzle, a vegan-friendly restaurant with drag brunches; The Test Kitchen, a laboratory-like venue where you can learn how to cook; and The Wake, a steakhouse with a stunning view of the ship’s wake.
But dining is not the only thing that Virgin Voyages has to offer. There are plenty of entertainment options on board Scarlet Lady, from live music to comedy shows to immersive theater. There’s also a huge emphasis on the party scene, with bars across the ship, a dedicated craft beer draught house, and a nightclub called The Manor. You can even order a bottle of champagne delivered anywhere on the ship by shaking your phone. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try some of the activities on deck, such as yoga, boxing, or even tattooing.
Of course, no cruise is complete without exploring the destinations. Virgin Voyages offers cruises from Miami to the Caribbean, with stops in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Bimini in the Bahamas. Puerto Plata is a vibrant city with a rich history and culture. You can visit the historic fort of San Felipe, enjoy the natural beauty of Damajagua Waterfalls, or relax on the golden beaches. Bimini is a small island with a big reputation. It’s known as the birthplace of rum, the home of Ernest Hemingway, and the gateway to the Bermuda Triangle. You can snorkel with sharks, swim with dolphins, or visit the mysterious Bimini Road.
